​A New Jersey native, Alessandra Alma is an award winning artist, writer and disabled veteran. She is a former Air Force Captain and disabled veteran. and served as a Communications and Information Officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism. Before pursuing her passion for writing, she was a software engineer. 

Writing began as a therapeutic outlet to manage her bipolar disorder and PTSD, but quickly grew into a deep passion. In her thirties, Alessandra began crafting stories with Latino characters inspired by her Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage. After pitching a story idea to a friend, she was encouraged to learn the craft and joined the New Jersey Romance Writers, where she served as newsletter editor and secretary. It was there she honed her skills and embraced her voice as a romance author and screenwriter. 

Alessandra is a member of the American Legion and served on the board of directors for Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. and New Jersey Romance Writers for several terms. She is an alumnus of  the Writer’s Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Program.  As an apprentice at Ani Art Academy America, she studies drawing and painting. Her artwork has been exhibited at the National Arts Program/Union County Art Exhibition in Union, NJ, Curated Gallery in Caldwell, NJ and 14C Art Fair/JCAST in Jersey City, NJ. 

She obtained a B.S. in Management from New Jersey Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University. 


Alessandra resides in New Jersey with her daughter and her service dog Lucky.
